Welcome! Senior Citizens of Kodiak, Inc. (SCOK) is proud to offer a welcoming atmosphere and an exciting combination of exercise classes, activities and events, and healthy and delicious meals for those 60 and older. SCOK provides many essential services that help seniors remain living at home in their community of choice. From exercise and karaoke to technology help sessions and art workshops, the Kodiak Senior Center is a community hub where older adults age 60 and up find friendship, meaning, and purpose.
Senior Center Events
The Health Fair is a FREE community event, and everyone’s welcome to attend!
Friday April 10 is Senior Day – the first 20 seniors in the door will receive a complimentary lunch ticket to use at the Senior Center.
Bring your family and friends! We’ll have door prizes and great information.
Alaska Health Fair will offer affordable comprehensive blood tests and we have over 15 local businesses and non-profits offering local health and wellness resources and giveaways!
Blood Screenings:
> Comprehensive (27 panels!) blood chemistry screen – covers infection, anemia, liver disease, clotting ability, kidney and adrenal function, liver function, bone disease, tissue disease or damage, heart function, liver function, muscle function, coronary heart disease – $45
> Thyroid Screen – $40
> Prostate Disease Screen – $25
> Vitamin D Screen – $55
> A1C (Diabetes) – $25
> Blood Typing – $25
> Vitamin B12 Screen -$40
> Ferritin – $40
> Testosterone (men) – $55
Test results are mailed directly to you within 2-3 weeks. Bring your test results to your doctor. Credit cards & cash accepted.
The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, offering curbside and congregate meals between 12:00 and 1:00 pm.
Senior Citizens of Kodiak, Inc. (SCOK) was incorporated October 30, 1973 in order to provide a full range of health, education and social services to people 60 and over on Kodiak Island.
The First Nationally Accredited Senior Center in Alaska
We are the only senior center accredited five times (2003, 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023) in Alaska by the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) and the National Council on Aging (NCOA).
