Aging Mastery Program

Aging Mastery ProgramNew program launching at Senior Citizens of Kodiak, Inc.

Our center has been chosen as one of 8 organizations in the country to pilot a new program called the Aging Mastery Program!

You will attend classes to learn to make and maintain meaningful changes in your health behaviors, financial well-being and enrichment in later life.

Track healthy behaviors, and you will earn points that can be redeemed for REAL REWARDS!

This project is a partnership between the National Council on Aging and Senior Citizens of Kodiak, Inc., and is generously supported by a one year grant from National Council on Aging (NCOA).

Two sessions are offered which contain the same information. The first session runs February 1st through April 4th on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. at the Kodiak Public Library. The second session runs February 4th through April 7th on Thursdays at 11:30 am at the Senior Citizens of Kodiak, 302 Erskine Avenue. Participants must be signed up by January 25th by 5:00 p.m. by contacting Laurie Murdock at Senior Citizens of Kodiak, Inc., 486-6181.

This ten-week, 90 minute class will include the following topics: Navigating longer lives; Exercising body and mind; Sleep; Healthy eating; Medication management; Financial fitness; Advance planning; Healthy relationships; Falls prevention; and Community engagement.

This program is free and open to those individuals 55 and older.
